The Monkey Says: Hello Kuala Selangor & Goodbye Forever

I'll be flying off this coming Wednesday, and I can't help but have morbid thoughts. Just the idea of dying on the plane, or worse, getting stranded on an island creeps me out. Have you watched Lost!!! :O I have close to zero living skills!! :O It's not so much of death, but rather the way it happens. Sigh waterworks all over again, and this time, I really really hope I won't be seated next to weird Chinese men who would judge me from my sniffles and sobs. Bah, stupid Japan flight.

Anyway, considering that there is a possibility that I might just die (bah), here are pictures from the Kuala Selangor trip:

The roads to Kuala Selangor were narrow and it looked very much like a village, so upon reaching a row of shop lots,

Sze Ye: EH HERE GOT KFC WEI!

City girls hahahah

First stop was this place called Taman Alam. I should've known better. I am now experiencing travelling mosquito bites, and I'm not even kidding. Despite the fact that I was a walking Minyak Cap Kapak.

I was walking so fast that at the end of the day I had blister friends. I wanted to exit quick you see!!!

Crazy narrow wobbly hanging bridge.

One of my favourite shots of the day, mangrove trees if I'm not mistaken.

At the end of the trail, I nearly ran for the tar roads. I love KL. The entire walk was RM4 per person, and the most interesting animal we saw was a monitor lizard. How depressing. Sze Ye stopped at almost every tree and exclaimed that there's a woodpecker here and there, which then Ginny would look out for, and Fugz would video and I'd be up front, moving about to avoid insect bites while saying "NORMAL BIRD LA NOT WOODPECKER!", praying that they'll believe me and start walking already!!!

We then took a turn to a place called Bukit Malawati, where the monkeys were:

Sze Ye and I were freaked out initially, we refused to be near the monkeys. I was afraid it might scratch me, Sze Ye was afraid they might lift her skirt HAHA! Thus the picture above was our proof that we were with the monkeys! From a distance :p

Another one of my favourite pictures.

Ginny back to her roots :D

Handicapped monkey, how cute! However, she snatched the long bean from my hands and was perhaps the fiercest of the lot. Rude monkey, bad monkey.

Soon after the monkeys left, we found ourselves chatting with one of the locals who is there daily. He told us stories from the past, how the place used to have a palace, and where the graves of our past kings were.

Picture below is a snap shot of something called Batu Hampar, and apparently, if the maids or anyone in the palace is suspected with infidelity, they would stand on the rock bubble, and place their heads on the large rock, where an execution will take place. Apparently, the trees nearby were flooded with blood from the scene, that their sap is red, unlike the usual white.

Picture above is an example of the said tree.

Later, we had dinner at River Side Restaurant nearby, where I had the worst crab ever. Ironically we were near the sea. Pfffft. After dinner, drove over to Kampung Kelip Kelip to see fireflies! :D

Ginny, Sze Ye and I.

So damn happy I live in a city. Phew
