Last 30th, we had our school based Merdeka celebration and proud to say, I've not missed any throughout the 5 years of my secondary school life.
The similar setting every year, just with different banners hung. The hype every year is to see the best dressed teacher, the best dressed student, what heels are you having on, how she broke the school rule by wearing sleeveless or having slits as high as ever.
As I remember, I wore baju kurungs stolen from my mother's wardrobe for all the celebrations because I do not own a single cheongsam despite yada yada I am a Chinese. *insert gasp here*
During CNY, I wear what I wear on daily basis. My family doesn't even practice the whole "New Year must buy new year's clothes!" routine. Probably because we just buy new clothes whenever we want -_-'''' No specific time. Damn sien can if buy during CNY only. Pfffft, the only Chinese thing we do during CNY is stock up the food tid bits and canned drinks. Unless I marry a soooper festive hyped husband, I pity my kids.
Didn't bother wearing traditional clothes this year round, prolly because exams ended just a day ago, and too much hassle to think about what to wear when all a sleep-deprived student would want to do is sleep.
I was a tad bit hyper on that day, messing with juniors who were sitting beside me and secretly popping behind their pictures and poking them with the flag and yah I don't know them pfffft.
But I remember one guy I disturbed, Megat or something. Haha. I think he still has my picture goofing around with the flag ;p

Alex was clad in his white samfu as usual. When I threatened to pull down his pants, because they were guttered, he seemed nonchalant. So when I did, he screamed because I pulled both his white pants and school track bottom therefore exposing XXX (psst, it was a T-underwear. Brand: Renoma.) Hahahahaha do not underestimate the great Wonderful.
He then stuck two flags in my ponytail. Pfffft, loser.
A poserific loser.
I've always enjoyed singing patriotic songs because they're just so melodious are they not or am I being nonsensical. I love how I can remember most of the lines of the Merdeka songs and how I seem extra patriotic wavin the flag and the bigger flag but cannot win Julian because he took the flag as his cape and ran around the school compound during the songs.
Hi girls. Spotlights on the first girl from the left please, her birthday on the 30th. The rest are kelefehs. My last Merdeka celebration in school *shiny anime eyes* *sniff
